Fundraiser Terms & Conditions

INTRODUCTION: There's not a lot of red tape for this program. Whenever there's an issue, we like to err on the side of doing what's best for our customers, and therefore we will also err on the side of doing the right thing by our partners and fundraiser organizations. Because this program is web-based, however, we do have some guidelines which are meant to educate you and protect us from certain practices that we would consider abusive of our program.
Here's the Cliff's Notes version of what is and is not okay when fundraising with our program: Our goal is to reach students and parents who haven't heard of us before, so if you are reaching out to people who are friends, family, colleagues, students, etc. of your organization, then you are doing things right. Be creative. If there's any question, email us and ask! But if you are posting your referral link on a website or spamming it or spreading it in such a way as to reach people with whom your organization has no relationship -- ESPECIALLY if you are attempting to use web site techniques (SEO), keywords, or advertising intended to get consumers to click your link who both don't know you and were ALREADY researching ThatTutorGuy.com on their way to making a purchase -- you are NOT abiding by the terms of our program. So make sales to your community, don't try to spread it to strangers from all over the world, and you're probably on firm ground.

The Details

By filling out the signup form, you acknowledge that you have read and agree with the terms and conditions associated with this affiliate program.
By filling out the signup form, your organization will automatically become an affiliate and are bound by the terms of this agreement. While you will receive your referral link upon entering your name and email, we require that you fill out the full form prior to your organization getting paid out any referral bonuses owed. If your organization (such as a sports team or club) doesn't have a website, then please enter the website of the school or umbrella organization you are associated with.
Payments
We will pay out our affiliates on a monthly basis, once the minimum payout is reached (currently $100).  If the current invoice amount for a given month is lower than the minimum payout, we roll that payment over to the next month, then the next month, etc., for up to 6 months.  For example, if your organization earns $50 commission one month, that is below the minimum payout, so we'd roll it over to the next month. If you earned another $50 that next month, you would then have $100 coming, so we'd pay out and reset your balance to $0.
Attribution and Revocation of Affiliate Status
We want you to be successful in referring new customers to our site.  That’s the whole point of a referral campaign: you send us customers we haven’t already reached, and we happily return the favor in cash for your organization.  However, we have no interest in paying for “referrals” which are not in fact referrals but instead folks who stumbled into clicking your referral link after they had already found our business, perhaps because you used an SEO technique such as trying to draw people to a page by using our name and the word "coupon" or "discount" or "review", which is expressly forbidden by this agreement.  ThatTutorGuy.com is the sole arbiter of what is and is not acceptable affiliate behavior.  We will from time to time update this affiliate agreement as we see fit to better describe what is and is not acceptable referral behavior, but we reserve the right to deny to pay commissions for any reason, whether it is mentioned in this document or not.  Your affiliate application and status in the program may be suspended or terminated for violation of any policy, explicit or implied, in this agreement, at ThatTutorGuy.com’s soul discretion. We reserve the right to, at our soul discretion, immediately terminate, nullify and retract any and all past, present, and future payments to any affiliate organization whom we feel is not operating within these guidelines.
Advertising & SEO
It is the intention of this program that affiliates only refer customers from the affiliate organization’s existing members, contacts, friends, classmates, friends, family, family members’ friends, schoolmates, web and/or social media presence – in other words, people you or the members of your organization already know or can reach. Therefore, online paid advertising of any sort regarding our program or your referral link is expressly forbidden unless you get explicit approval from us first.  We reserve the right to, at our soul discretion, immediately terminate, nullify and retract any and all past, present, and future payments to any affiliate who purchases advertising of any kind aimed at acquiring additional traffic to their referral link, especially any advertising which contains or is targeted to any term or keyword resembling any aspect of our registered trademarks, the name of our business, the name of our employees, and/or any discounts.  You very explicitly may not purchase any ads containing or targeting any search terms resembling the words “That Tutor Guy coupon”, “That Tutor Guy Discount”, or “ThatTutorGuy.com”.  That’s because anyone entering a term like that into their browser has obviously heard of us already, i.e. they weren’t referred by you.  You may post a “review” of us, but it may not be promoted via paid advertising of any kind.
Your review and/or website also must not appear in the first page of organic results for our name or any search term described above, such as involving our name and/or the words “tutor” or “dicount” or “coupon” or "review" or any synonyms thereof, or any other "linkbait" terms, as determined by us at our sole discretion.  For example, if you post about us on a website, it may not contain the words “coupon” or “discount” or anything resembling that anywhere on the page, nor in the url or meta keywords.  If it is determined that you are ranking top 10 for searches on any of those terms, on any commonly used search engine, you are in violation of this agreement and we reserve the right to immediately freeze all past and future payments to your affiliate account.
